Sports betting at Encore set for Jan. 31 start, casino ready for mobile competition

The booths are still roped off and the betting monitors blank, but a walk of the gaming floor at Encore Boston Harbor demonstrates the casino is more than ready to begin taking wagers on sports.
“Everybody in Boston are huge sports fans and we're the only place in town for six to eight weeks where you can come in and bet on the Super Bowl,” Encore Boston President Jenny Holaday said. “Anybody you talk to, it just has such a huge appeal, because we're such a big sports town.”
