Democratic Legislature, Cuomo kick off session with high favorability ratings

ALBANY - More than 50 pecent of New Yorkers have a positive opinion of the Democratic controlled state Legislature and Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo, but disagree with the decision to grant lawmakers a pay raise, according to the latest Siena Research Institute poll of registered voters.
The Assembly is seeing a record 48-32 percent favorability rating, while the Senate, which voters flipped from red to blue in November's elections, has a 49-38 percent favorability rating, close to its highest rating ever, according to the survey.
Both houses saw a negative favorability rating in June 2018.
