Former Red Sox GM Theo Epstein hired by MLB to help on-field product

From listening to Red Sox games on the radio and playing infield for Brookline High, to winning World Series titles in Boston and Chicago, Theo Epstein is now on his way to the commissioner's office in New York to fix the game of baseball.
Epstein, who left his post as the Cubs' president of baseball operations in November with one year remaining on his contract to pursue other interests, was hired by MLB on Thursday to be a consultant regarding on-field matters.
