MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Tuesday that they have waived center Nikola Pekovic.
Pekovic was drafted by the Timberwolves with the No. 31 overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft. His career has been marred by injuries. He missed all of last season recovering from surgery to fix a leg injury. He played just 12 games for the Timberwolves in the 2015-16 season, starting three games, and averaged just 4.5 points per game.
Pekovic averaged 16.3 points per game in 62 games during the 2012-13 season. The following year, he averaged more than 17 points per game in 54 games.

MINNEAPOLIS - The Minnesota Timberwolves have waived centre Nikola Pekovic, whose troublesome right foot limited a once-promising career to 271 games with the team over seven seasons.
The move was made Tuesday, with one season remaining on the five-year, $60 million contract Pekovic signed after a breakout 2012-13 season. The 31-year-old Pekovic last appeared in a game for the Wolves on Jan. 31, 2016.

On Tuesday, the Minnesota Timberwolves announced in a statement they waived center Nikola Pekovic .
Pekovic, 31, spent the last seven seasons with the Timberwolves. During that stretch, he averaged 12.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game on 51.8 percent shooting from the field.
However, foot and ankle injuries derailed his career, as they limited him to 97 total games between the 2013-14 and 2015-16 seasons.
Pekovic didn't appear in a single game during the 2016-17 campaign because of recurring ankle troubles.
