Firefighters battle wind-whipped 6-alarm Dorchester blaze

Firefighters are battling a now 6-alarm blaze that started on the backside of a Dorchester three-family and has spread to 3 other buildings in the wind-whipped conditions.
“Heavy fire in the rear of a three family occupied building,” the Boston Fire Department reported in a tweet after 10 a.m. “The wind has pushed the fire to 3 surrounding buildings. This is now a 6th alarm.”
The fire is on Peverell Street and has spread to buildings on Cushing Street.
