The UK government says it will pay a £39 billion Brexit divorce bill

LONDON - Britain will pay a Brexit divorce bill of up to £39 billion, the UK government has confirmed.
A spokesperson for Downing Street said on Friday morning that the financial settlement Britain will pay to the EU as part of its exit will be "between 35 and 39 billion pounds."
This comes after British and EU negotiators reached an agreement on the first phase of Brexit negotiations after overnight talks between Theresa May, Jean-Claude Juncker, the DUP and Irish government.
