    A modernization of Charles Dickens' “Oliver Twist,” Martin Owen's “Twist” is mediocre on all levels in spite of the casting of Michael Caine in the role of Fagin, the evil mastermind running a ring of child thieves on the streets of London in Dickens' 1838 novel.
    This version, adapted by John Wrathall, Sally Collett of Owen's “The Intergalactic Adventures of Max Cloud” and Mathew Parkhill , reminds us that there will be “no dancing, no singing and no happy ending.” I suppose that is a dig at the award-winning stage hit musical...
